Gross Motor
Gross motor activities are activities that involve the large body parts, such as the arms and legs. It is important that a child is accessing these muscles in order to perfect skills like running, jumping, and skipping. Practice makes perfect; therefore, your child will participate in gross motor activities at least once every school day. Although these skills will be covered in school, there are many things that you-- the guardian-- can do at home to get your children up and moving. Some activities that can be done at home with little to no preparation are provided under the gross motor tab. If there are any more questions about your gross motor skills, then do not be afraid to contact me.
FINE MOTOR
Fine motor activities are tasks that access the small muscles, such as the fingers and toes, with eye coordination. Through these activities, we strengthen your child's muscles, allowing them to carry out fine motor tasks easily. Fine motor skills are directly correlated with multiple necessary tasks, such as writing and multiple self-help skills, such as shoelace tying and teeth brushing. Similar to gross motor skills-- practice makes perfect. If you click on the fine motor tab, then you will find multiple activities that you can do with your child at home to enhance their fine motor skills. If you have any concerns or questions about your child's fine motor skills, remember that practice makes perfect and contact me.
